The motion sensing socket senses you as you approach and automatically turns on the light. The light remains on as long as the motion sensor detects activity in the room, turning the light off approximately 4 minutes after you leave the area. The First Alert Motion Sensing Light Socket screws easily into any existing light socket compatible with CF bulbs. Patented motion sensing technology automatically turns light on when entering and off when exiting the room. Light socket senses movement in all directions and is ideal for laundry rooms, basements, walk-in closets and garages. First Alert Free Motion Sensing Light Socket works with compact fluorescent light bulbs. This motion sensing hands free socket is intended for indoor use only and requires AC power to function properly. A 3 year warranty has been included.

Installed Sensing Light in ceiling of a 10 x 6 room, and I had to walk around before it lit up. Tried another Light same problem, just a different spot in the room. Barely acceptable, and only because its in an infrequently used basement room.

I didn't like going into my dark garage until I installed my First Alert Motion Sensing Light Socket. The second I open the the garage door light! Works really well with my LED bulbs. No more fumbling in the dark looking for the light switch. Thanks!

These work great for both lights in my garage. They go on in the garage when we open the door and pull in or just when I walk in to take the trash out. This new model now works with energy efficient bulbs which are great!

This is a very excellent product. I love going in the garage and not have to look for a light switch. The lights come on automatically and shut-off automatically. Please don't stop manufacturing this product.
