Very nice detectors. I would like to see a hardwire master, and all slaves to have 5 year battery in them and this would satisfy code conditions.

This small device most likely saved our lives. While working on a new but faulty furnace, a repair man cracked it without realizing he had done so. As we have one of these units on each floor, the one in the basement alarmed first resulting in a very frightening but very clear message indicating an emergency and need to evacuate. We all managed to get out safely and the fire department arrived very quickly. They confirmed the issue and the furnace was replaced. I cant emphasize enough how important it is to have these installed and functional throughout your house. I dread to think what would have happened if we hadnt.....
