Because the POD is the only device to contain dual sensing technologies - an accelerometer to detect tilt and rotation and magnetometer to detect linear movement - it is highly sensitive to the door being opened quickly or gently edged open by intruders. The 20-second entry delay gives you time to reenter yourself without setting off the alarm in error.
