Customer Reviews For The First Alert EL53W-2 Three Story Escape Ladder
Product Reviews
Purchased because it is not a one use only emergency ladder. Arrived quickly.
Light weight and strong. This product is precisely as I thought it would be. I hope to never need it for anything other than a couple of practice drills but I have great confidence that it will work well.
This product seems very sturdy and seems like it will withstand the weight when you need it to.
This company is always a pleasure to work with and the products are high quality.
In 3 story condo rental in Maryland the sprinklers are help but who wants to be first down the stairs into a smoky fog? This offers a second safe easy out!
Our ladder was short 5 feet, we would have failed the inspection for section 8 and miss a months rent, but we got the 3 story ladder and we passed the inspection. Thank You, Chuck
We have a three story harbor house that we rent. We tried other ladders but they did not fit the narrow ledge. We bought both a two story and three story ladders which work beautifully. Hope we never need them but it is comforting to know they are there.
Fast Service and Shipping!
It arrived in good shape. It appears to be of sturdy quality. It is for a rental property and I hope it never has to be used.
I hope never to have to use this product, but I am happy to have it. It appears easy to use and very sturdy. I also like that it has flat rungs, instead of the round. This is good for when you are descending with more than one person.
Thank you so very much for your prompt shipment of the fire escape ladder. I am pleased with the quality and ease of use. Thank you First Alert!
Product FAQs
The window should be at least 20 inches wide and 32 inches high to give you enough clearance to exit safely. The windowsill width should be between a minimum of 6 inches and a maximum of 10 inches. Also make sure you measure the windowsill from outside to inside. Do not use the ladder on windowsills that are too large or too small for the hooks, damaged or weak, or blocked by furniture or security devices (grilles or bars). From the outside of your home, check below the window for any obstructions - trees, plants, bushes, windows, house fixtures, or any other objects in the direct path below the chosen window.
This 14-foot ladder can hold up to 375 pounds at a time. It is constructed with steel anti-slip rungs and strong nylon strapping for strength and stability. The fire safety ladder can be used on standard windowsills, stored under a bed or in a closet for easy access, and comes fully assembled.
The First Alert Escape Ladder does not require mounting of any kind. Steel rung stabilizers help to keep the ladder stable while in use.
Store the ladder where it can be immediately accessed - near the window, under a bed, or in the front part of a closet. Make sure nothing blocks you from reaching the ladder. In a fire, you have limited time to react and take action. Secure the ladder in its original box to keep it from becoming tangled.
