Customer Reviews For The Hardwired Heat Alarm with Battery Backup
This is my second identical heat alarm after 10 years. I am using this in my two car garage. I have it connected to my hard wired smoke detectors in the house.
I purchased two heat alarms for my two car garage as one was chirping every 5 minutes. They were 7 years old and the batteries were outdated. I made the decision to just replace them as I had already replaced all the smoke detectors in my house and wanted them all new. I used a 6-foot ladder and replaced them myself. It was very easy to do with just a screwdiver. They look great now and match my white painted ceilings and walls in my garage.
finally stop the burnt toast alarm
Order was a little slow but the product is great! Easy to unbox, everything was there and just as ordered. Mounting was easy as well as the wiring. Tested and verified units so all went surprisingly well! Would highly recommend.
Product was delivered very quickly and was exactly what I expected. Thank you

Items delivered promptly
I replaced the 2 alarms in my garage about 3 weeks ago. The First Alert Heat Alarms were still working perfectly but because they were 11 years old I decided to replace them. I received them very quickly and the install was simple, I was able to use the existing ceiling ring because the style of the new device fit perfectly. My entire house is hardwired with First Alert smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. I have called on several occasions and the customer support personnel are extremely helpful.
The product works as advertised. I installed one in the garage and one in the hallway. Many home fires start in the garage and we wanted to be woken up in our bedroom if the fire starts in the garage. The alarm in the hallway is loud enough for all occupants in the house can hear it and evacuate.
I am far from installing them as I am just roughing in the electrical. I bought them now to avoid potential supply chain issues in May. They are rated amongst the best and there seem to be a sparse choice of hardwired heat/rate-of-rise alarms
This heat alarm was very easy to install and set up. It is hardwired, but also has battery back up in case of a power outage. This is being used in a 2 bay garage. So two cars plus all the other items normally in a garage. Potential fire hazard, so with this alarm the family and home are protected and warned early if fire breaks out in the garage.
I had a Smoke / Carbon detector installed near my kitchen which would go off repeatedly whenever I cooked anything. I replaced it with this fire detector and it works perfectly. Highly recommended. The company shipped the product immediately so the customer service is great too
Needed this item for my garage. Arrived sooner than expected and got a good price and free shipping. So far so good. It is working.
My first HD6135FB lasted the promised 10 years being manufactured in 2011. Ordering from First Alert was easy. Installation was also easy. A quick unplug of the old unit, replace the mounting base piece the new unit was slightly larger than the old one plug in the new unit, Test as identified in the instructions and I was good to go, The entire process including reading the manual took less than half an hour.
Replaced a 10 year old detector with this device. I ordered on line, arrived quickly. The new unit was a perfect replacement & functioned within the existing system.
no problem with service or product Would recommend
Have one of these in my basement and one in attached garage. Gives me peace of mind
Ordered this for our garage now that we've got a hybrid car that's occasionally plugged in overnight to charge. Buying this direct from First Alert got me the best price available on-line significantly less than big-box retailers and other sellers. Received a 9V Duracell battery along with the detector, which saved me a trip to the store for a backup battery. Installation and wiring was straight-forward. Alarm is quite loud - if there's a problem in your garage, you'll definitely hear it! Strongly recommend for garages and any other storage areas subject to significant temperature changes over the course of the year.

First Alert BRK HD6135FB Hardwired Heat Alarm with 9V Battery Backup
The First Alert BRK HD6135FB is a specialized, professional-grade heat alarm designed to provide a vital layer of fire safety in environments where traditional smoke detectors are prone to nuisance alarms. Standard smoke alarms can be triggered by dust, high humidity, or common household fumes, making them unsuitable for areas like garages, attics, crawl spaces, and kitchens. This hardwired heat alarm solves that problem by utilizing a thermistor-based sensing system that ignores airborne particles and instead monitors the air for specific thermal changes. By focusing on heat rather than smoke, the HD6135FB ensures that you receive a reliable early warning of fire in the most demanding areas of your home or business without the frustration of false triggers from car exhaust or cooking steam.
Technologically advanced, the HD6135FB features a sophisticated microprocessor that manages two distinct types of heat detection: fixed-temperature sensing and rate-of-rise technology. The alarm is calibrated to trigger an immediate alert if the ambient temperature reaches a fixed point of 135 degrees Fahrenheit. Additionally, the rate-of-rise sensor will activate the eighty-five-decibel siren if it detects a rapid temperature increase of fifteen degrees Fahrenheit or more within a single minute. This dual-sensing approach allows the unit to respond to fast-burning, high-heat fires even before the air reaches the fixed temperature threshold. For continuous operation, the device is powered by a 120V AC direct-wire connection and includes a 9V battery backup, ensuring your property is protected during power outages caused by storms or electrical emergencies.
The First Alert HD6135FB is engineered for seamless integration into a comprehensive home safety network. It features hardwired interconnectivity, allowing it to be linked with up to eighteen other compatible devices, including twelve smoke alarms and six heat or carbon monoxide detectors. When one unit in the series is triggered, every interconnected alarm will sound simultaneously, providing essential early warning throughout the entire premises. The unit also includes a latching alarm indicator that visually identifies which specific device initiated the alarm even after the event has subsided. Maintenance is simplified through a single test and silence button and a side-loading battery drawer that allows for quick battery changes without removing the unit from the ceiling. Compliant with UL539, CSFM, and NFPA 72 standards, this heat alarm is a critical safety supplement for any modern building infrastructure.
