I was afraid I would mess up and get shocked or burn the house down or fall. It went smooth, I replaced the radioactive one with this one in the babys room. Works fine, 1/2 hour job. The wires for the unit are stranded and the house wiring is solid so it was a bit strange getting the wire nuts to work but it is fine. Just give the wires a tug when they are in the wire-nut to make sure they are tight inside.

In the process of many hours of research,reading hundreds of reports of how it's usually impossible to see through the smoke that is created by a fire, I decided that it would be absolutely necessary to have two alarm systems with escape lights for the upstairs bedrooms & downstairs hallway, so all of the family can see to get out safely in case of a fire...great invention FIRST ALERT!!!

Product was received in good condition. Replaced a detector from a different brand which started to false alarm. Installation was easy with no issues. No false alarms. Everything is working correctly. I plan to replace my other detectors with the same model in the near future.

I brought the 7020B to replace the five original smoke detectors in my house. The 7020B came with the wiring adapters and well made mounting rings. It took less than 30 minutes to install all of them using a step ladder, a Phillips screwdriver and a wire stripper for the interconnection wire. I like the emergency lighting feature and the easy access door for the battery. The only thing I would do to improve it is to use a marker to highlight the polarity markings for the battery to avoid installing it incorrectly when replacing it.
